Clinical Seminars for School & Educational Psychologists
Seminars are interactive and specifically designed for school & educational psychologists to enhance their effectiveness in their roles in relation to clinical and mental health issues that such psychologists encounter, and need to consult on in their work. A maximum of 25 places ensures active involvement and learning, and enables focus on the specific needs of participants. Intended to integrate with the optional Advanced Workshops. Feedback for the last 5 years has been very enthusiastic - the program has been booked out for the last two years. (total of 16 hours CPD)

Advanced Clinical Workshops
Workshops focus on practical methods and techniques and are designed to complement the Clinical Psychology seminar program or can be done as a stand-alone training. All workshops are facilitated by Dr. Simon Crisp who has well over a decade of experience in training mental health professionals and has lectured at Monash University in postgraduate Counselling and Ethics & Professional Issues. Drawing on Simon’s extensive and broad clinical experience with adolescents, participants can expect to build their confidence in working with the many challenging issues of adolescents, and increase their understanding of effective interventions and clinical skills.
(4 x 2 hours per workshop = 8 hours CPD)

#3 - Designing and Running Group Programs (including school-based programs) |
Group-based programs for indicated high-risk groups are effective ways of intervening early and preventing further morbidity. This workshop gives the practical ‘how to’ of every aspect of school-based groups: designing an effective program, recruiting participants, creating an effective group, leadership “do’s and don’ts,” generalizing learning beyond the group, evaluation and ensuring lasting benefit. |

#4 - Responding to the Traumatised and Grieving Adolescent |
Traumatic incidents, acutely stressful events and loss significantly impact on adolescents who are especially vulnerable to such experiences. A skilled and informed response can rapidly mitigate these effects and assist young people to cope well and overcome intense destabilization and loss, and improve stress resilience. |
